Preparing Family meals and establishing meal times is really important to a growing family. A family eating a meal together will more likely be closer knit, as they bond sharing their days events and discussing news, upcoming events etc together. Studies have proven that children raised sharing meal times together are less likely to partake in smoking, drinking or taking drugs. More positive outcomes include the children to have healthier diets and less likely to snack on junk prior to a meal.

In order to be successful in preparing meals for the family you need to be organized. Start by selecting a meal time that suits all family members to sit down together. Setting a menu that the whole family will enjoy. Once the weekly menu has been worked out prepare a grocery list for the week, by having the groceries in the house will ensure a better chance of coordinating the meal with ease.

Some meals for a family that are easy and children will love:-

Tuna Rissoles

1 Large tin of tuna ( drained)
1 kg potatoes
1 lemon juice & zest
1 large onion (diced)
Bunch continental parsley ( chopped)
Ground nutmeg ½ teaspoon
Pepper

Egg & breadcrumbs to crumb
Oil for frying
